This is a modified episcope (transparency projector).
The device projects in real time
(actually acting as a camera obscura) the image of the hook inside the receptacle. The
image is projected onto an adjacent perpendicular wall.

The device is painted the same
colour as the gallery walls and, during nstallation, a final coat of paint is applied once it has been fixed to the wall. The device’s lens has been moved from its factory position and is placed
a few centimetres away from the main body of the device to achieve this sort of projection.
